Personalized, Evidence-Based Care
I am committed to providing treatments that are backed by science and have been shown to improve mental health & wellbeing (learn more about me & my training here).
I specialize in working with people experiencing concerns related to:
Emotional Distress
Emotional distress can take many forms: anxiety, depression, irritability, intrusive thoughts, and more. I offer evidence-based treatments to help clients unstick from emotional suffering and build the life they want.
Trauma & Stress
Trauma and stressful events can deeply impact wellbeing. Clients often struggle with painful thoughts and emotions after these events. Together, we can work to process what happened and find a way forward.
Reproductive Mental Health
Reproductive events– like fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, the menstrual cycle, and menopause–can also impact mental health. I often work with folks experiencing distress in these contexts.
My values.
-
I see therapy as a relationship between equals. I aim to help my clients strengthen their connection to their own inner wisdom and empower them to do what is needed to move towards their goals.
-
I believe the therapist and client are a team. We both have strengths that can support the therapeutic process. We will work together to identify those strengths, clarify your goals, and take active steps towards them.
-
I deeply value research and its role in informing mental healthcare. It is important to me that my approach is backed by science and aligned with best practices. I stay up to date on the literature and share it with clients as relevant.
-
While research can be very informative, it does not capture any one person’s experience. I embrace this and seek to balance my attention to the evidence base with my client’s goals, values, and preferences– and, work with my client to tailor treatment accordingly.
-
I care deeply about providing affirming, safe, and culturally-responsive care for clients with diverse identities, abilities, and needs.
-
I am committed to being genuine and transparent. I value authenticity and see it as a critical part of building trust, connection, and strong relationships. I hope to support my clients in showing up authentically as well.

An important note.
I am both a licensed clinical psychologist and registered yoga teacher. It is important to me that clients know these are distinct disciplines with different credentials, ethical guidelines, and regulations.
As a psychologist, I am attentive to the risks of having multiple professional relationships with clients. For this reason, I cannot work with clients as both a therapist and yoga teacher. I encourage clients to consider which of these roles they would like to work with me in (i.e., therapy or yoga) before reaching out.
What days are you available?
I typically work at Root & Bloom on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 8:30am - 4:30pm PT.
It is important that clients know I have limited availability outside of these hours as I also work part-time at the University of Washington at the Psychological Services & Training Center.
What are your fees?
Phone Consultation (~15m): Free!
Intake Session (~75m): $360
Individual Sessions:
Standard (50m): $250
Extended (75m): $320
Insurance: I am not in network with any insurance plans. I can provide a superbill for clients who would like to pursue out-of-network reimbursement on their own.
I value access to care and recognize the cost of therapy can be a significant barrier to treatment. While I am not able to offer reduced fee rates at Root & Bloom Wellness at this time, I do supervise graduate students and provide services at the University of Washington’s Marsha M. Linehan DBT Clinic part time, where reduced fee options are available. Additional resources for finding reduced fee services can be found here.
Standard vs. Extended?
I offer two session lengths. Various factors may impact which session format is right for you (e.g., availability, treatment plan). If we work together, we will discuss these factors and make a plan for our weekly session. We can revisit this plan as needed.
No Surprises Act: You have the right to receive a “good faith estimate” of what your services may cost. I can provide one upon scheduling or at your request.
What can I expect?
Therapy is a collaborative process. First and foremost, our goal is to get to know each other. I want clients to make an informed decision about whether I am the right fit for them. I also need to assess if I have the right training and experience to support you in your goals. To accomplish this, we will spend our first few sessions in an assessment phase. I will ask you about your background, current concerns, and your goals for therapy, while you get a sense for my style and approach. We will develop a treatment plan and decide whether to work together.
Once we commit to a plan, we will get active in working towards your goals. My therapeutic style has been described as non-judgmental, genuine, and engaging. I use evidence-based methods to help my clients make the changes they want in themselves and their lives. I value staying up to date on research and tailoring current best practices to my client’s individual needs, goals, context, and values. I recognize our work together is typically just an hour of your week and that lasting change often takes time and practice. For this reason, I work with my clients to make changes both in and out of therapy. During sessions, I take an active stance and we work to identify, understand, and change behaviors in real-time. Between sessions, I encourage clients to engage in practice assignments to hone their skills and continue moving towards their goals.
Throughout treatment, we will continue to assess your progress and goals. This allows us to change course, if needed, and decide when our work together is done. My approach is designed to be time-limited. While we may not know exact length of care at the start, my ultimate goal is to help clients learn the skills they need to “become their own therapist.” Practically, this often means meeting weekly at the start of treatment and then decrease the frequency of sessions and/or conclude our work together as clients achieve their goals.
Treatment is individualized, which means its length and methods used vary based on the clients’ needs and preferences. I strive to create a safe and affirming therapeutic environment, and I am committed to providing care that is culturally-responsive, anti-racist, and LGBTQ+ affirming.
If you think working together might be the right step, the first step is to reach out and schedule a free, 15-minute consultation call. Don’t hesitate to contact me with questions, too!
